I painted one wall in my house with black chalkboard paint, but hadn’t been inspired to write on it. Thanks to this poem, I have a first line:
Yup, that’s my motto right now.
The nice thing about mottos is that they give you something to live up to. Walter used to call it an incantation rather than a motto. An incantation being something you recite over and over and over until—poof!—it comes true.
(I’d like to take the time to point out that this has nothing to do with—nor do I endorse—The Secret or The Power of Positive Thinking, although I do in fact support the power of positive thinking. There is a difference.)
So, it’s very important here to note that I have not yet started to Put the STAR in Starting Over… but that’s my plan. Any day now.
It’s so nice to figure out what your dharma is, and apparently mine is to practice resilience, and to try to notice the subtle growth patterns when sometimes life feels like a not-funny version of Groundhog Day.

I would like to suggest that you make the A in “starting” a star as well… just to be symbolic. I like this post, and the wall. Glad to see you are staying positive.
