I’ve been stuck home for days with what my friend Nira assures me is (probably) not tuberculosis. In addition to positively crawling out of my skin because it’s been in the high 70s and beautiful out, I can’t even Skype-complain to my friends because I have no voice and haven’t had time to learn sign language yet. (It’s on my list, as soon as I master French).
Rather than stab myself in the larynx like I’ve been tempted to, I’ve been channeling my angst into RecoveringYogi.com. In case you started tuning me out a long time ago, RecoveringYogi is a new creative project I’ve got going with my friends Leslie and Vanessa. This is the mission statement:
We love yoga, but…
Enough is enough.
RecoveringYogi.com is an online refuge for the spiritually disenfranchised. Our mission is to provide a safe space for those who have had less than awesome experiences in the yoga world to voice their opinions, speak their minds, and express themselves freely.
RecoveringYogi.com is for those who have spent significant time on the yoga scene—perhaps are even still in it—and have something to say about experiences that don’t measure up to the puppy-dogs-and-rainbows hype. For those of us that are just kind of over it, welcome to RecoveringYogi.com. We’re not a place for ignorant bullies, but rather, for smart, fearless renegades who say what we mean. We also like to cuss a lot.
Far from the land of meaningless manifestation, vacuous positivity, and noxious yoga speak lies RecoveringYogi.com. Join us for some straight talk about how we really feel.

It’s a work in progress. The talented and amazing Melissa Schmechel of Darlingville Design has been helping with the look of it.
Oh and here’s a sneak peek at the t-shirts we’re having made:

Phew, I think that’s about it. When it comes to being prolific, I’m like the Ryan Adams of social networking.
