Yesterday I participated in a craft pop-up in San Francisco. It was the first time I ever sold things that I made. You can see the mild glee and major apprehension on my face.
I spent every night last week making spices, salt blends and other products from scratch, including very fancy labels which staved off the dementia for a few more years.
One of the products I made (with Leslie and Sara) was healing salve, which is a fragrant skin balm for cuts, scratches, burns, etc. Great for sunburns! What you’re seeing here is a crooked heart born from an attempt to hand-cut circles. Fuck hand-cut circles, is all I’m saying.
My display. Aw. Ain’t she pretty?
Linen spritzers — great for freshening up sheets, upholstery and even the inside of your car. Ambrosial aromas of jasmine, ylang ylang and lavender.
Two of the salt blends I sold: chipotle-lime salt and sichuan gomasio. Both are condiments, so you don’t have to cook or even have a kitchen to enjoy them. Just stash them in your purse and take them out at restaurants to season your food like an eccentric weirdo. That’s what I do.
My friend Anna made these pinch pots. She’s incredible.
I love the name of my imaginary spice company.
Ahem.
