I’m a freelance writer and editor with about ten years of experience working with companies in the technology, retail and wellness arenas. I’m great at coming into an organization and adopting a brand style while also bringing a fresh outside P.O.V.
As a functioning craftaholic, the subject matter is deeply embedded in my heart. I write about crafting on my blog and post frequent photos of my homesteading aspirations on my Instagram feed.
The format of your blog is one I’m quite familiar with and practiced at. For one of my favorite clients, Eventbrite, I frequently conduct interviews and then write up short, pithy blog posts about the subject. For instance, I wrote a post called “How One Foodie Couple Used Events to Turn a Passion Into a Career” after interviewing the couple who started the highly lucrative blog Pinch of Yum.
I ghostwrite for a lot of technology movers and shakers. Here are a few examples:
Besides the literally hundreds of blog posts I’ve written for clients, I’ve also written plenty of other types of content, including:
Although I now live in rural Vermont (dreamy), I spent nearly 20 years in the San Francisco Bay Area working with technology and wellness companies, immersed in the collaborative spirit of ingenuity that reigns supreme there. I deeply understand the concept of building a lifestyle brand on a technology platform — being #digitalfirst. I also have plenty of great references if you are interested!
I understand SEO practices — and how important it is to use keywords without becoming a slave to keywords. Great content starts with good writing; keywords come second.
I’m a writer, yes, but I went to art school (Syracuse University, BFA dual major in ceramics and photography), so I’m highly visual and love using images to illustrate a post. Often, for clients, I suggest images I think would work well to complement the words. Or, I build a post around images they provide.
I’ve been a rabid Etsy shopper since 2012, but as the mom of ridiculously cute identical twins girls, I now obsess over kids’ stuff on Etsy on almost a daily basis, so I’ve definitely got that market covered.
I’m social savvy and love to promote everything I write on Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn.
If you have an opening for a freelance blogger, I would be thrilled to be considered. Please email me or call me at 415.203.0255.
